UK Engineering Council?
Being CEng ...
The Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is being set and assessed at the standard of the final (fourth)
year of a British Masters Engineering (MEng) first degree alongwith the related experiance in the respective field.
A candidate eligible to join UK Engineering Council Examinations, may on average target to complete all
Level examinations in 4 to 5 years time, sitting in Pakistan, taking regular annual examinations at the British Council Karachi.
A CEng will be having much comprehensive knowledge (theoritical as well as practical) as compare to the
engineers graduating from other Universities within Pakistan. The reason is, at UK Engineering Council Examinations,
the concept of selective study is out of question.
As CEng, you'll be having the membership with UK Engineering Council's Licensed Engineering Institution,
as well as an opportunity to get membership with the Pakistan Engineering Council, as vide 2nd Schedule of PEC Act, the status
of CEng to the full members of listed Engineering Council's nominated institutions, is recognised by PEC.
Benefits of being CEng ...
- Membership as Chartered Engineer with UK Engineering Council
- Membership as Recognised Engineer with Pakistan Engineering Council
- Recognition as practising engineer without meeting any further education requirements, in signatory countries
to Washington Accord Agreement:
[United States, Canada, Austrailia, South Africa, Hong
Kong, Ireland, Newzealand]
FEANI Registration and the European Engineer Title (EUR ING)
Registration is open to engineers who are registered with the National Member organisations. (For example,
in the UK, this means that applicants must already be registered with the EC(UK).)
The UK Privy Council has approved the use of the title EUR ING as a prenominal, in front of the name and
before all other ranks and titles. It does not replace the title Chartered Engineer (CEng), which should still be used as
a post-nominal. Chartered Engineers are generally eligible for the EUR ING title, and over 12,000 British Chartered Engineers
have already achieved the qualification.
